Our Appointment System

We currently find ourselves in particularly difficult times; Dr Causer is currently on long term sick leave which has had a considerable impact on the availability of appointments as we now only have 3 part time Doctors available.

Unfortunately we do not yet know when Dr Causer will be returning to the Practice

We have had to put special measures in place as recommended by our Governing body, Portsmouth City Clinical Commissioning Group (PCCCG) to cope with the daily demand for appointments

We are currently only booking appointments ‘on the day’ and we are unable to offer any pre- bookable appointments to our patients.

All appointments are booked on a ‘first come, first served’ basis

We will where ever possible use Locum Doctors to help meet the demand but there is a national shortage of Locum Doctors and we are finding it increasingly difficult to obtain the services of a Locum Doctor

Once our appointments have been booked the staff will ask patients to call the following day at 8.30am when we will have more appointments available

To book an on-the-day doctors appointment, contact the surgery from 8.30am, the appointments are offered on a first-come first-served basis. Once all the days’ available appointments have been taken, we will only be able to make exceptions for Serious and Very Urgent Problems.

All appointments can be booked as a face-to-face or telephone appointment.Telephone appointments are suitable if you feel you do not need a face-to-face consultation but please remember it is a REAL appointment and you must be available at your appointment time.

Please help us to help you: DO YOU REALLY NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR?

You can get very good advice and treatment from the Treatment Centre (St Marys Hospital) or your local pharmacist.
